Urgent help needed with a 500 internal server error.

    I downloaded and installed the Simply Links component on my Joomla site. Now my homepage gives a 500 internal server error. ONLY the homepage. Everything else works.

    I uninstalled it and it still does it. I'm confident that this component did something to mess it up. Any fast help would be appreciated.

    I guess it is a .htaccess problem. Or your index.php is buggy.

    I temporarily renamed .htaccess to htaccess.txt.. it still gave the problem.

    I renamed the components directory and it didn't give the error, it just made the site look funky of course, but the last component I installed I uninstalled already!

    The component came with a mambot. I didn't think to go and uninstall the mambot too. It's working fine now.
