I guess those "hostile computer networks" will probably include organizations and dissidents online who question the governments policies.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower in the 1960s warned Americans about the "military industrial complex." Now the iron triangle has become so strong, it will be difficult to stop them.

I agree. F*ck that. I offer support to anyone who is going to help fight back. The cyberwar has begun.

I'm not saying I agree with any of it but it would be stupid for any government to ignore the potential for abuse, misinformation and intelligence gathering that is the internet. If plans like these were not in place, the reaction should be one of outrage, not the other way round, imo.

I don't think its that big of a deal. After all, the US even has plans to invade Canada. If the US would "disrupt or destroy the full spectrum of globally emerging communications systems, sensors, and weapons systems dependent on the electromagnetic spectrum", it would be like the US performing terrorist attacks on itself.. its just not going to happen. The financial loss would be in the trillions, and thousands of people would die because of the loss of communication. Think about it, if no one could use their cellphones to call 911 for just one day, how many people would die as the result?

Good read... but I can't help thinking it's pointless.

You can tear apart any military document and make it look shocking.

From influencing public opinion through new media to designing "computer network attack" weapons, the US military is learning to fight an electronic war.

Woah, influencing public opinion? That's America stooping to a new low.

I think you are talking about the "so called 2000 election" when you are talking about new all time lows for America!!!

These bastards in power now must be impeached and after the mid term elections you will see this gain steam!

Jesus, all I see these days is people on forums moaning about the US, and politicians slating the US on TV... why the hell is your government still in power? (rhetorical, I don't want this to spin into another 10 threads with people slating the US)

Do you think that the U.S. is going to get greedy and invade all it's neighboring countries... Is it possible that this can happen in a few years or so? :(

WWIII is possible with Bush and Cheney at the controls....

But at the same time we can't get a cup of water to poor folks in New Orleans so do you think we will take over Canada and Mexico anytime soon

90% of the guys I work with in construction are Mexicans that can't even speak English, so they are taking America over, not the other way around!
