Using/Hosting Subversion?

Does anybody know of a hosting company that offers subversion? I'm assumign it's a good idea to have it remotely so just in case my machine crashes or my area floods/burns/invaded my source code would be safe...

Or how would it be recommend that it's used? anybody have any experience with it?

 

I think it will be hard to find a virtual host that will give you Subversion: most of the time you would need to get a dedicated host to run your own services like that.

The alternative is to use a company that specifically does Subversion hosting. Search for 'hosted subversion' and you'll find a few companies that do it. I can't recommend any as I haven't used any, plus I don't know your exact situation (number of users, size of source tree, budget, etc.).

Alternatively, you could just do something like run Subversion locally then have a cron job that zips up your tree and FTPs it off somewhere every night...

 

Yeah, I think I might just get my own box for it
