vBulletin

I'm really sure I want to use vBulletin.

In the past I've used: MyBB, phpBB, wBB, ProBoards. I think it's time for some paid software.

But I want to know your thoughts on this. Is vB really worth the $180? Lots of the big time sites use it.

    Thanks.

    I figured that :D

I don't know if I should get it now or wait for version 4's release?

What other things can you say about the software?

The only problem that you might encounter is that some of the useful plugins are not compatible with the latest vB version.

Should I just keep it plugin-less until the release of v4 so I don't have to worry about losing compatibility?

Should I buy an owned license from someone else (over 3 months old)? Or should I purchase from the official site?

If you want a serious forum, it wouldn't make sense to go with anything but paid software. vB is amazing - I've been using it for about 6 years now. It does everything you can imagine, it truly is the best if you want forum software that does it all (even things you'll probably never use). Big community, too. Just note that it has an annual cost for upgrades. You also have to pay full price for additional licenses.
