Very low CTR for "good" trafic

Hello Everybody,

I discovered this forum a few days ago and he was realy helpfull. I read interestning topics and I tried to apply the things I "learned" on my website. But for the moment, the results a verry bad. I hope you will help me

My website (wow-twink.com) is about twinking (a meta-game, a game in the game) in World of Warcraft. It is the place were the french twinking community meets. The french part of the website represents 95% of the trafic.

After more than one year of activity, I dicided to put adsense ad so that I can earn some money (I am actually paying the hosting and a Teamspeak). But for the moment, the results a realy bad.

3500 Impressions
6 Clicls
0,17 CTR
0,20 eCPM

Are the ad placement wrong ?
Should I put the ads on every pages ?
Should I put ads on the forum ? The forum is generating +/- 10 000 impressions/day, isn't there the risk to have a very low CTR.

Do you have other advices ?

P.s.: I have 2000 (60% from Google) visits and 20 000 Page Views a day

Yes, the stats are very bad, but I'm not sure you can expect much more from a WOW theme in french. You have a $0.03 CPC, which is low but expected.
The CTR on the other hand could be slightly improved, by adding more adsense blocks, adlink and adsense search in your pages. That would improve your overall earnings a bit, but you'll never be rich with it

About the forum, it's the same but worse.. The CTR will be even lower and the CPC the same or slightly higher if some topics are differents. But then in the forum, put the ads in the first post like on DP, that's your only hope..

First of all, my CPC grew a little up this week-end, had clicks between 0.20 and 0.40 euro, but the CTR was low (as before, around 0.10 %). I'll try to put a bit more adds.

Is there any other solution for monetizing a World of Warcraft website ? For example selling a banner space (had already a website that asked me how much I was asking for it), but I don't know how to do it... Any advice ?

 

read more about optimized adsense ads. There are a lot of articles out there that you can use to earn more from adsense. They discuss about proper placing and color (and size) variations. The "adsense secret" by Joel Comm is very good to start with. Hope to hear that your CTR increases along the way.

 

are the shown ads related to your website ?

if not check out your metatags and some keywords !!

 

Dude how many unique visitors from search engine ? = this will help u a lot to earn

 

Try clickintext.com ad company for french audience,they have a CPM (pay 0.7€ per 1000visitors)
It's pretty lame payment, I don't like it, but other people's opinion may differ. And also once you are at clickintext you may use them for other purposes, like CPC ads (they pay 0.05€ minimum) so it can be useful to you in the future.

I didn't used Keywords on my website because I heard it wasn't usefull for google page indexation. But as I am reading the adsens guides, I learn that they are very usefull for Adsense. Am I right ?

Actually, the adds a related to my website, but 90% of them are about goldselling and powerlvling wich is illegal... :s

I got +/- 600 Unique visitors / day that a comming from google. The other search engines a irelevant (bing 1,5% of total trafic).
