Video Organizing Script

Discussion in 'Content Management' started by NetBastard, Jul 4, 2008.

I need a script where I can upload my videos and organize them into seperate categories. Prefer it to be free.

Also, needs to be simple where only the admin can upload videos, no membership for viewers.

    Thanks :)

I don't recall but you could certainly remove the upload link from the template on the user end ;)
Most video sharing scripts are designed to encourage community interaction. It sounds to me that you just need a website with a media player on it. I misread your post initially. You likely want something like http://www.wimpyplayer.com/
    http://www.jeroenwijering.com/
    http://www.coffeecup.com/video-player/

    http://www.google.com/search?q=vide...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

    hope that helps,
    Nigel

I'm just today starting a very similar project and using phpmotion. It seems pretty cool so far, you would have to remove the member registration bit though, and just have one user (yourself) to upload the videos from the frontend - I can't see anyway to do it from admin. It's free anyway so you may as well try it.

I also just had a look at vidiscript, which looks okay and says it's 100% free, but they're using Google Adwords to get more sign ups so I can't help thinking they're up to something - there must be profit for them somewhere?

Yeah, I have a couple of sites using Joomla and Seyret, but if you're certain you only want videos on there and nothing else there's a lot of unnecessary extras installing Joomla. It's worth trying out though if you have the time, and you can upload videos through FTP and add them through admin, and disallow user registration.

I'm still liking phpmotion so far though.
