    Wanted: Creative layouts CMS


    Pls try to find my (and others) best choice for a 3-goal site # (very) Big-blog, # small-portal, # some-community site. Suitable for local politics party, lobbygroup and other interest driven groups w. one (1) main editor /author (and secondary contributors). Think of it as a tremendously good looking :p local e-magazine, heavy on texts w. some community features.


    1. Webdesigner freedom     (demand /must)
    CMS allow easy adaptation of "all free templates" OR implement new, creative lay-outs (CSS and XHTML for dummies+ must be enough to make also mid-size site)(excludes Drupal?)

    2. Taxonomy (demand /must)
    Must have good customizable chategories /topics hierarchy (AND preferrably also tagcloud) (which excludes Joomla!?)

    3. Modern /secure administration (wished for)
    Captcha /authentication, search, intuitive admin pages, extencive user /group settings and nice URL's. Active development.

    4. General:     PHP-Server w. MySQL, Lic. GNU /GPL.

    I am not sure about Open Source CMS that meets your requirements.
    But you may try ExpressionEngine if you wish to spend around 200 $ (including forum module).
