I have made a new site and I know very little about Adsense. So can you guys give me any tips to use. I did not have any clicks at all. Can u guys help me? What other types of advertising can I use? I wanted to know how to get Game banners for my site as I own a Game-oriented website.

    Just a few tips...

    1. Write quality content
    2. Make your Adsense ads "blend in" with the rest of your site
    3. Give away something on your site (advice, tutorials, etc.) for free that nobody else has, or if they have, make yours better.
    4. Always be better than the next guy. If there's a site out there that has similar content to yours but has been around longer than you, 9 out of 10 times he will get the traffic and you won't. You have to give people a reason to visit you.

You said you run a Game-oriented website. GameSpot is a game-oriented website. Let's play a little roleplaying here. What can I do at your website than I can't do at GameSpot? What exactly do you provide? What do I (as the web searcher) have to gain by visiting your website? Is your website going to teach me something? Is it going to save me time? Is is going to make me money? Is your website going to entertain me, is it going to make me laugh? These are the questions you have to ask yourself. If you're site can't any of the above then you're going to have a real hard time getting traffic.

Think of the various reasons why YOU use the web. Think of websites you visit and why you visit them. What's the underlying reason? Are you looking for an answer to a question? Are you looking for how to do something? Are you looking for a review of a product? The content you write should be answering these underlying questions. You have to look at your site from the eyes of your user and say to yourself "how is this site helping me?".

As for advertising programs there are tons you can use...Adsense, YPN, Chikita, RevenuePilot, TargetPoint, AdBrite, Kanoodle, Clicksor, BidVertiser, Enhance Interactive (Ah-Ha), BrainFox, just to name a few. However, many of these don't allow you to have competing programs on the same page (so for instance, you can't have Adsense and YPN ads on the same page). Here's an ongoing list I've been compiling lately of all text ad programs that I have come across so far...

As for banner ads you can try Commision Junction, LinkShare, ClickBank, ShareASale, AzoogleAds, etc. The list of banner ad programs/providers is also huge. I've also got a list of those going here too for those...
