Toyota Finance owns most of her still, but we own about the back tyre's worth.

This is the van we are going to use in our outreach to the homeless.

    YAY!!! Kimberly is here!!!!!

Congrats ... she's a beauty! Hopefully, you'll own all of her soon!

Neat site. Didn't know there was a difference between "homeless" and "houseless" .. learn something new every day.

Thanks Nitin, well the UN agrees with me on the houseless / homeless issue but a lot of service providers are behind the times.

I wish they had those here it would work great for our family and get better gas mileage than the big vans (but then I probably couldn't pull a camping trailer.)

Congratulations - I hope it helps the cause, get those kids fed and protected.

Congratulations !! I hope your able to achieve lots with it. I haven't been to the site but what Nitin mentioned brought back an old memory. Years ago I remember in a George Carlin routine where he explained the difference between homeless and houseless. It went somehting like this..people and a family make a home. People without a place to live should be called houseless not homeless.

I hope you do great things with this. Really sleek van tho - did you fork over for it yourself or were the local authorities feeling generous?

Very cool. If I were homeless, I'd go for a ride :) Seriously, glad to hear that things are going well.

George Carlin is a rather obnixous, vulgar, politically incorect, American comedian. He's so anti government, and almost everything else that he manages to get almost everyone mad at him at one point or another. He's Great. :)

I dunno, as cool as that van is, if it got in a fight with project responder, I'd know who to put my money on. ;)

anyway :p what are you going to do with this van? Drive around and distribute food and medication? Or do you have something else in mind?

Take a car too, 20 volunteers on the team, park in the one place for 2+hours, around 50 to 100 homeless people gather to socalise with the volunteer team. No food, just a coffee or soup.

There is no need for food in Sydney as so many places give it away. But there is a need to stop and spend time with people and get to know them. I've taken this aproach for the past 10 years and wow does it make a difference.

We also provide an intensive support program (live-in) for people who have been on the streets for many years and want to re-join society.

Project Responder - I had to drool when I saw it, what an awesome vehicle. Shawns Hummer is still my fav. though.
