    Hi,

Hi, I am looking to do a major update to my website and i am looking for a top SEO/web designer to assist me. The current site was created in 2002 and i designed the site myself using a WYSIWYG editor with no real knowledge at that stage re SEO/web design.

I want to completely update the look and feel of the site whilst improving my search engine rankings which are already pretty good (most important keyword is page 1 number 7 on google). I also need a CMS system that once the design and SEO is done will enable me to easily add new pages/make changes to existing ones myself with hardly any knowledge of html.

I'm finding it very hard to find the right combo of web design/SEO and SEO friendly CMS system to complete the project and was hoping you guys might be able to help me out or point me in the right direction.

Many thanks in advance for your help :)

    hi
6 months ago i really decided to make a go of this making money thing. I had a basic joomla site going no where for a year then bang it took off. There is drupal but im not sure of that.

i set joomla up as per advice from forums found on google and here , installed SEO components and started having fun.

If you do a search on google au for zippo (lighters, tricks, lighter tricks etc ) you will see zipposuperstore is on either the first or second page.

Check out the address of each page too you will see most are SEO friendly, just need to work on it a little more.

It was all done with wysiwyg because i had no knowledge of html but after looking at the back end of joomla at least i understand it a little bit and the site template i actually hacked myself ( maybe thats why its so basic ). Now just have to figure this adsense thing out

good luck and if you need any basic advice please pm or email me

    OK Joomla is a good choice for SEO, However you will need to do a few things to the site -{easy to do things}
you will need to download 2 extensions (JoomSEO and sh404SEF) One cleeans up the autogenereated urls joomala creates and the other will auto create key works that are search engine friendly.....

I also suggest you movie to a Joomla Friendly hosting company I know of one that will install joomla or almost any other cms system for you. They will also help you if somthing breaks on your site or you cant figure somthing out.

And if you want a auto link exchange program i suggest LINX

you can find all of theese joomla extensions at the joomla.com website click on extensions once on the page and type in the names of the programs in the search box.

If you want to see the extensions in action pm me i will send you one of my website links...you can also pm me for other joomla questions or if you want help finding a good joomla host.

Thanks guys, appreciate it. I probably didn't make it very clear in my post but i'd like to find someone to do the design/seo as well. Seems like someone who uses Joombla is the way to go. If you guys could point me in the direction/recommend a top web designer and expert SEO person who will set up everything using Joombla or equivalent CMS, it would be greatly appreciated :)

I just don't have the time to implement a new website and SEO it with a system i'd have to learn from scratch.

    Many thanks in advance

Just in case it helps, Joomla seems to be giving performance problems for high traffic sites. So you should reconsider your decision in case you are trying to grow your website to bigger one.

It will be great if someone running a VERY BIG Joomla website can throw some light on this performance issue.
