Web site/ e-mail insurance? Is it worth it?

Got a phone call from a company offering me e-mail and web site insurance, something to do with viruses and stuff like that. Anyone think this is worth it? Or is it just people trying to make money out of nothing?

not worth at all.... since u're hosting ur site. except u host ur server by ur own. but, if u host ur server by ur own, i believe you'll protect the server using the best av ever, isn't?

Its a big scam, i got offered the same thing and investigated.

All they can do is compensate you for damages if your site is to go down, however they have big loop holes in the terms and conditions - They have ways to get out of paying you out.

Don't buy website insurance, the best insurance you can have is a sense of logic, backups & AV's.

I haven't heard of it either. Why not just back your site up online in case of some type of catastrophe?

    That's pretty funny. Email insurance?

The way to protect yourself is to use anti-virus software and be careful about what you install and open.
