Webmaster opinions: Fa____o vs 'real' installation of Open Source.

Are Open Source programs installed with 'popular automated script installers' likely to have any of these problems:

-Unable to function if moved to a host without 'Fa____o'?
    -Generally more prone to errors?
    -other problems.

I once read a developer say something about 'blank spots' in the code from 'popular automated script installers', but I'm just wondering in general if they are equal to 'hand-crafted' installations?

And specifically I'm curious about the auto-installed folder called 'Fa____o' data. This would suggest the programs won't function properly if moved to a host without the same set-up, correct?

    Thank you very much.

:) I copied my own post from another large forum. Over there they are very strict about not naming companies or domains.

The 'popular automated script installer' is called Fantastico, I'm not sure if the installations are as good as doing it yourself.

From what I remember, I think the Fantastico data directory just stores information such as the installed version and so on, so it wouldn't stop you from moving it elsewhere.

I prefer to do the installation myself as (again, from what I remember) it will always create a new database and my host currently has a limit on the number you can use :(
