    Hi Everyone,

I have a site up and running, and have tons of adsense content and also added a amazon affliate, but I am not generating any traffic. I am getting approx. 60-70 hits a day, but nobody is clicking on ads.

Any suggestions on what I can do to improve my site on the net? :(

Try blending your ad's better, make it seem like they're normal text on your site to create deceptive view to the visitors. You have 2 different color adsense ad's there on the top and the left side. With that fixed IM sure you will get some clicks!

Not sure if AdSense and Amazon ads ever generated traffic. Better to focus on content, good and original, to draw visitors.

Change background color of your ads similar to your website background, and make links color same as well.

Ad placement is your problem, remove ad borders for a start and try to blend the ads into your content

Visit the General Marketing forum and read, read, read. You can optimize your ads out the wazoo, but 60 impressions a day ain't gonna cut it. Heck, half of that is probably you checking up on your site. So visit the General Marketing forum and learn about how to promote your site.

I like your banner along the top of the page - cute graphics.

    I would:

Write one article for each of those diet types you've got there. If you get bored doing this, then you are not writing about a topic you enjoy, and you should try another topic instead. After you've written them all, you can link each paragraph of the main page to the individual articles, and link each article to all the others.

Get rid of the Amazon stuff (just my experience that on 60 hits a day, you won't sell anything, but you will get an Adsense click or two.)

Get rid of the borders round the ads, and make the background the same colour as your page.

Put some ads in the middle of your article, instead of above it.

Put in a good <title> tag that encourages people to click on you. Add a proper <meta name=description content=blah>, and make sure the main heading on your page is in a <h1> tag. Google will like you more if you do this.

Visit some dieting forums and tell them about the amazing and informative article you've got about exactly the topic they are discussing.

    That's what I'd do.

The ads you display also dont generate traffic to your site. and hits are different than visitors. You could actually have 3 visitors making those 60-70 hits. Get the word out about your site. More visits = more traffic.

I would say first be aware that there is no such thing as an instant adsense millionaire!! - YES there are stacks of people who would give you the impression that adsense is easy money etc - but nothing in life is that simple

The best way to improve your adsense revenue is try and experiment with different ad blocks

My own view is try and avoid anything with borders round and background colors etc. Once you put the ads in a box then you mark them out as separate content, and people will often avoid them alltogether

I also believe that ads that stretch down the page i.e. skycrapers are better than ad blocks that go across the page. This is because when people scroll down your page, most of the ads will be lost - but this doesnt happen with skycrapers

Also remember that adsense ads dont have a huge click through rate, so you will need many "impressions" to get clicks

    1. How many unique visitors do you get a week? 2. your site is not sticky... Once people have read everything on your homepage they are done. 3. It is very hard to tell what your site is about. Instead of starting with an article, you should give a little introduction to what your page is about and what you can do for your visiors. What makes people want to go to your site other than the 1,000's of other diet sites. 4. Put up recipes, diet and bmi programs, links to exercise videos (with pretty pictures of women.) Pretty pictures of women will make a site much stickier....... There are literally thousands of sites doing what you are doing so you won't dominate the market, but, you might be able to include a specialty forum for people to share recipes or talk about their diet. 5. Maybe put a poll on your site which asks what diet people like the best. 6. Put up testimonials next to each diet. 7. Write your own article on the front page so you can direct people in the direction you want. 8. Get rid of the newsfeeds, you don't want to lose customers. The Google ads are fine because they will produce you money. 9. Love what you are doing more than the money....... 10. Maybe have a section where people can put up their favorite playlists to workout to. 11. Get creative, have fun.... Sorry for the long post, hopefully it wasn't annoying. Good Luck.
