Is it Gmail Yahoo MSN or Gmail Yahoo AOL (order not important) or is it something else?

I need the info for an upcoming post.

I'd have to say Yahoo, Hotmail, and AOL.

Google is primarily used by net savvy people IMO, and probably would be 4th or less.

Top 3 e-mail clients for what? Most used, or best-of-the-best?

I'd go with FastMail and Gmail (and that's about it) by one definition.

If you're talking numbers, how about the unscientific test of doing a Google search?

    "@hotmail.com" = 36.5 million
    "@gmail.com" = 24.4 million
    "@yahoo.com" = 219 million
    "@msn.com" = 38.4 million

So, Yahoo!, Hotmail, MSN (MSN doesn't make sense to me - I think I've actually emailed once in the 7+ years I've been online - but the first two do, and Gmail not being on the list makes sense to me).

Of course, this excludes those who mask and etcetera, but ...

    ~

    EDIT:

    At one point, I had 7 ... ;)

Are we talking about email clients or web mail? The most popular email clients are Outlook Express and Outlook.

I'd go with hotmail, yahoo! and then gmail.

(Initially, I thought the topic is about email client software - which I'd go with Outlook, Eudora... :)

Zipping up the .exe before attaching in gmail should help to bypass the antivirus nuisance.

Thanks. . .I meant web mail. Sorry. I think we have a winner. And about the zipping . . .I tried that, but Gmail still figured it out.

I'm going to have to agree with mdvaldosta... God Bless Google for GMail, but with the invitation only/cell phone signups, it just won't be as strong in numbers as say a Hotmail would.

GMail, while increasingly popular among the tech folk... I'd probably guess Yahoo! and Hotmail take the top two email web client spots.

On a side note, does anybody remember Eudora? How about Pegasus?
