Heres a Phobia List in case you can't think of one

Everyone was talking about Phobias, I thought we could build out a pretty substantial discussion on that alone. So if you have any sort of fears, phobias

Yes we're all likely to make jokes at your expense, but if we didn't what fun would it be ..?

 

I'm afraid of not having a girl-friend, which is why I am always in constant fear.

 

Altophobia- Fear of heights

I'm scared to death of heights. We went to six flags a few years ago and my wife, somehow, managed to talk me into going up that huge tower that overlooks the park with a view of Arlington, Texas. It lasted less than a minute. The fear was overwhelming and I had to go down immediately.

 

Apiphobia- Fear of bees.
I can't stand bee's. I can hold snakes, and pet crocs and lions, but bee's freak me out.

I had the misfortune to watch ALL of those "Attack of the Killer Bee's" movies and well...they freak me out. A rabbid vampyric monkey I could ward of with a bat. Love sick alligator wants me in the worst way..? No prob - .38 to the flat triangular skull.

Bee's - you can't hit them, they swarm on you - those scenes where the guys gets COVERED in bee's holy crappola!!! That would just SUCK.

 

I don't reckon TheWebJunkie is afraid of being too high..?

 

I have phobiaphobia. I'm afraid of being afraid of things.

I guess there could be someone with Phobiaphobiaphobia - Afraid of people who are afraid of being afraid....

 

2 things come to my mind

I'm afraid of public speaking which is quite a disability for a businessman and for a guy who's about to get married (dreading the speech)

I'm also afraid of getting shocks off my car every time I get out of it. So much so that I close the door with my elbow pushing the window. Weird eh? lol

 

I'm afraid of spiders and anything with more than 4 legs, and anything that is small and creepy crawler like. Spiders, woodlice, Mice, rats, centipedes, caterpilla's, moths, daddy long legs. ect.

I'm also afraid of meeting Minnie in a dark alley one day, but that's a whole other story.

 

Minnie...? As in Micky's girl...?

 

Weird... I can't find my phobia in that list... it's not hydrophobia, since I aren't afraid of water, but only of dark or cloudy water.

Maybe I have invented a new phobia!

Fryman - maybe we can use the list to make you a whole new phobia:

Molysomophobia- Fear of dirt or contamination.
Rupophobia- Fear of dirt.
Hydrophobia - Fear of water.

So Fryman has RupoHydrophobia or Molysomhydrophobia

Oh boy... both of them sound like a weird Vietnamese disease

 

I think the biggest fear is uncertainty. Losing control as well. Everyone has different ways those fears manifest themselves but they all come down to losing control on some level. Losing balance, losing ground and not being able to handle what comes next.

 

Thantophobia - Fear of Death or Dying (not afraid of death it's the dying part that scares the hell out of me)

Somniphobia- Fear of sleep.

Lilapsophobia- Fear of tornadoes and hurricanes.

That about covers it.

My phobia has to be Logizomechanophobia - fear of computers! One day they won't need an operator. Come to think of it - it might not be so bad. It could build my website all on it's own. Manage the cashflow - then I could retire. Maybe a new challenge for Bill?
