I was afraid of the y2k phenomenon that never occured.

Hi there, Ever since I was a kid growing up in NYC I've had a terrible gripping fear of going in natural bodies of water because there might be shopping carts down there. Now that I live in the country - people think I'm insane!

 

I'm afraid of bees....I HATE BEES!

 

Bees won't hurt you Rob unless you disturb their nest, I know, when I was a kid I threw a big rock into a giant nest and they got me about 100 or so times.

Now killer bees are another story and you don't have them in Chicago, they are in Mexico and moving into the SW USA, they will chase you for miles.

I can't figure out what Fryman is afraid of. Sludgephobia or something.

 

Geese can be kind of scarry when you piss them off. Try throwing a tennis ball at one and then having 8 of them run after your ass and tear you up. Happened to a friend when we were kids.

 

My grandfather, Lonnie, has told me of the stories from his childhood growing up in Tennessee having consistently stolen honey from many a hive in his day. He swears he was never once stung by a bee during those daring thefts…

 

BS, Bob! I had a wasp go up my soccer jersey and bite me a eight times.

Over the last twenty years I've been stung over 100 times. And I've never beat on their nest. I'm always just minding my own business...

Um, don't you mean stung by a wasp?

There is a theory that once you get stung, there is a chemical signal left by the sting that can linger on for a couple of years and should you be unfortunate enough to attract the wrath of the bees or wasps again, they will zero in and attempt to sting you on the same spot.

Wasps bite.

That would explain why I wasn't stung until age 10. And then so many times in the years after. Interesting.

I was stung (by a hornet) in the Grand Canyon in 2000 but not since.

I was getting stung so often that I changed soap and deodorant a bunch of times...stopped wearing shorts... I even shaved my head so I wouldn't need to use gel.

 

Must be that alpha male thing you got going on Rob, the male hornets don't want you near the nests
