What did I do wrong DP? Help!

Discussion in 'General Chat' started by Rooky, Jan 11, 2012.

Ok so last night a member of DP made a thread titled "I need Money" and in return said he would help out whomever gave him the money. He also said he was desperate because his domain fees were due, hence he would lose them.

I sent him the money to his Paypal account as he requested (Here is the Paypal email address he posted in his thread >gilbertvannorman69@gmail.com) and he never responded with a Thank you or to follow though with his promise of helping out.

Less than 24 hours later one of the mods here deleted the thread.

So does it sound like I was scammed out of my money? lol and why would a Mod delete that particular thread when this is the General Topic sub-forum and I've seen similar threads in this discussion area part of the forum?

I guess I was naive to think that he was a legitimate DP member. I thought by helping him, then in return I could have someone point me into the right direction to learn Affiliate Marketing. I guess it was a cheap lesson to learn on DP, it could have been a lot more money. Maybe I should count it as a blessing because no one will get a dime out of me again.

Can anyone give me some advice on my Paypal account. If he can't be trusted then is there anything I have to worry about him doing to steal money from my Paypal account or sabotage my account in any way?

I had no idea that this is fact what you said. I didn't even consider this because I thought DP was all about dealing with other members and money related. Thanks for the heads up

I hope he enjoys that big fat juicy steak he took off my dinner table while I eat Grilled Cheese and Ramon Noodles for another week because he's not gonna find many more idiots like me on the internet.

I remember another guy who bought a domain from me and I pushed the domain into his godaddy account but he was so naive that he didn't know how to accept a transfer. He sent me his godaddy id and password and I logged into his godaddy account and accepted the transfer for him. He had had other domains in his account.
I thought that guy was really naive but "Rooky" you surely beat him. :)
If you paid by paypal you should open a dispute right now. Don't let him run away with your money. :)

I didn't even consider that option but it's the principal, isn't it. I wonder if he can sabotage my Paypal account in any way?

Well I am not an expert in paypal matters but I can tell you if you did nothing wrong, if your paypal account is verified and legitimate then you shouldn't fear. Go ahead get your money back.

Ask for your money back from Paypall...you can still get them if you give them a call.

I was thinking that I have no proof since the thread was deleted. I will probably chalk it up as a learning experience and maybe someday that guy might lend me a helping hand if he has a conscious. I'm a strong believer in Karma so I will pray for him to.
