What do I do with an Ancient undeveloped domain. ???

I have had DriversOnly.com & Drivers-Only.com for 8 years and never developed them. They get very little traffic and I’m tired of sitting on “good” domains and paying the renewals with no progress. I can’t even remember why I thought these were good at the time but I still think they have potential. So I have until Feb 08 to make these worth keeping or selling for a decent amount.

I’m looking for Suggestions, Recommendations and Ideas on what I can do to make the best use of these domains. I’m thinking long-term but not management heavy.

If you are worried about giving up a great idea and having it picked-up by someone else, please don’t post. I would consider working with someone to develop the right concept, but that is not the purpose of this post. I'm most interested in a discussion about what to do with a few very old homeless domains.

    Thanks

Yeah. driversonly is a good name. too bad you don't have a database of every drivers links etc, but if you could get it you could make a site out of that.

It would be a massive site and get you a tonne of organic traffic so long as you didn't end up in the supplemental index.

The ones i've seen like this are quite useful but they make you run round in circles submit your email address and you never quite know what they are up too. I mean. All I want is a driver right?

I'm talking about computer drivers, but there are also golf drivers, but why would you only sell golf drivers.

Then there are also car drivers but seems a bit weird for that.

A site comparing auto insurance companies or something might prove to be profitable.

I found an old file with ideas for some of my oldest domains. DriversOnly.com was on the list. At the time I was thinking that it would would for both computer drivers, commercial trucking or as a auto customization resource. The flexibility was key for me to spend $140 to register these two domains for two years each.

All seem to be viable. Thanks for the comments. More would be welcome.

I would also try the "other drivers"; monitor drivers, modem drivers, printers drivers, etc. etc.

Sites offering such downloads and missing DLLs and other system files are quite popular ;)

You could create a content site around things that matter to drivers and use free reports to build a list. You can then use your newsletter to introduce them to multiple CPA campaigns.

    Adsense might work well.

You can do alot with that domain.

You can talk about anything relveant to driving, cars, etc.

Since the domain is 8 years old, it should be a big positive. But leaving the domain and doing nothing with it. It's a big big waste. :)

the fact that the domain name is old gives you a tremendous SEO advantage to other newer domains. Be sure to develop it

I'd go with something auto related too. Huge market + good domain + traffic = $$$
