    I have followed Cheney's advice on Adsense placement but am concerned about the skyscraper in the RH column. Would I be better off with more space and block ads instead?

    Looks good to me, regarding text links or banner? you can try it out for couple of weeks and see which one works better for you :)

    Thank you, it's good to know I'm heading in the right direction.

    I'm running Adsense tracker so I should be able to see which ads work. As for the background, some people like it some don't! It wouldn't be my first choice but I have had quite a few positive comments about it so I might leave it for a bit.
