What Internet Browsers does the World use?

Discussion in 'General Chat' started by Weirfire, Nov 30, 2004.

Does anyone have any figures on the estimated percentages of what browsers people use?

I'm assuming that it's about 95% Internet Explorer but I would be interested in gaining some hard facts for my degree dissertation especially the figures on the next most popular browsers.

I've actually just found this link from w3schools

    http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

very interesting results for Mozilla :)

Mozilla is gaining and IE is losing market share by many studies released recently, that is for sure.

Remember that Microsoft considers IE a part of the Windows OS, so what does that tell everyone about Windows?

    lol

You'll always have a bash at M$ anytime the subject comes up. I do like Mozilla though and might (I said might) install it on my home PC. ;)

Linux users seem to have levelled out at 3%. It's probably all the Microsoft staff that use it. ;)

    Great stuff Anothony :)

I'd also be interested in knowing how many people use broadband and how many are still stuck on 56k modems? :)

If you hike 500 miles to the Northwest, find the large rock at the base of the lake, did a hole around the base of the rock 6 feet deep and 4 feet wide, then my son you will find a crystal ball in a wooden box.

Open the wooden box, place the crystal ball on top of the big stone, when the Sun shines through at a 70 degree angle, rub the crystal ball and ask your question at that precise moment and your answer will appear in the dark cloud though the thunder and lightning above your head.

PS: You need to do this because I can’t give you every answer anymore my son..... :p :) :D

    Cheeky brat!

Well all I've found is that in America in November 2003 38% of home internet users were using broadband but I really need results for a more recent date.

    Any offers? :)

Weirfire... Do you know Who Invented The Internet ?

    :)

Isn't it depressing how you study so hard, knowing it'll all leave your brains within 2 months after finishing uni?

He's only 4 months younger than I am. I'll push him over. The kid needs to learn fast! But he does spend too much time here. He should spend more time with that nice young lady in his pic.

Life's not all about the internet.

Without the internet you would have to crawl under a rock and die or work on a concrete construction crew (one in the same) to survive :p :D ;)

    Cheeky brat! :p

I didnt know the British had any input in it but I knew it was the American military. It's crazy when you think how long it has been running for.

I would spend more time with that nice young lady in the picture but when I'm posting here, she is working in a coffee shop. You could argue that if I worked harder instead of posting then she wouldn't have to work in that coffee shop though

I'm actually enjoying doing a project that is linked to my business. I'm more likely to retain the information that I learn. In the 4 years I've been at uni this is the first time I'm enjoying any aspect of it. :)

Fair play! You always come across cheerful so it must be good for you.

Let us know if you need any more info for the project. We'll have some shares in WeirFire inc Corp in return. By the time you float we'll be megarich, even with just half a percent. Then we'll come down (you fly us in) and we'll have some of that delicious coffee from the missus.

Yeah DarkSat, I would push Weirfire from the high dive, no doubt, I also would like to push New Computer (Rod) off an even higher dive because he is avoiding me on the forum  :p
