    Make sure that you post your social media badges on your website so that others will know that you are a member. If you are using a fan page than like your fans also and comment on their pages as well to increase your exposure. Twitter is also effective and hash tags will help followers find you and your subject or niche more easily.

    You can put the share and/or like button of Facebook on your website so that everytime somebody visits your site and likes it he can choose whether to share it or like it. As it is already mentioned above, you have to update the content on your FB wall. For example you can post your new articles, ask questions, write quotes related to your niche etc. All these actions help you build a web audience.
    As far as Tweet, the idea is to follow people that are interested to your niche so that they follow you back. You tweet your new post blog, you Retweet others people tweet etc. The idea is the same as FB: build a web audience.
    You can link facebook and twitter so that everytime you post something on facebook it is automatically posted on tweeter or the oposite!
