What is the best CMS for a fansite?

I have a fansite wich is really growing and I want to change it so it runs on a CMS... it will be more interactive. Wich CMS do you recommend for a fansite?

The problem is that most of the CMS's don't have an image gallery. I know that on Joomla and so, you can install an extra component, but that’s to complicated.

What I need in a CMS is:

    • a download section where members can upload and download word documents, videos etc.
    • an image gallery suitable for a large amount of images, albums and subalbums. Members must be able to upload as well. Administrators should have a feature to upload many images at once… it can be through ftp.
    • a feature where the administrator can choose on wich pages members can leave comments.
    • a mailing list where I can email everyone at once.
    • The menus should be almost like joomla’s where you can have categories on the left/right with the links to your pages underneath that.

I know I’m asking for much here. Anything you can recommend? Preferably something in PHP, not java, must work in all browsers.

Anyone has a fansite for a celebrity running on a CMS? If so, please post your link, I want to see what you did. ;)

you can do that with joomla but you must install some additional joomla components. here are my component suggests

    * a download section where members can upload and download word documents, videos etc. (remotestory or docman)
    * an image gallery suitable for a large amount of images, albums and subalbums. Members must be able to upload as well. Administrators should have a feature to upload many images at once… it can be through ftp. (zoom media gallery)
    * a feature where the administrator can choose on wich pages members can leave comments. (akocomment)
    * a mailing list where I can email everyone at once. (this is the default properties of joomla)
    * The menus should be almost like joomla’s where you can have categories on the left/right with the links to your pages underneath that. (no comment :D)

you can find all of this component on joomla extension site
