    Hey all,
I am making new tech portal (with tutorials, news,....). I have few friends that will help me with writing, so it will be always fresh and I will put new news and tutorials very often. I was working with joomla. Now please tell me is there any good CMS that is better then joomla for me?

    Thx

Wordpress would be another attractive option, tho Joomla has more functionality as a portal site (i think)

I use Wordpress, I just like how everything is setup with wordpress, all the plugins you can add, and how often it updates. Matt really keeps Wordpress going strong, I strongly suggest wordpress.

wordpress is only good for blogging purposes and you cant add good features to it..
Drupal is not flexible at all..
Thats why,i said Joomla is the best solution.

I would suggest you a DLE cms , its widely used in Russia , well it was made there...
Its advantage is huge , same as the very well made templates,
security level is on top , easy to manage , + its very light and doesnt load servers even with high amount of visitors...
I can give you my site just to check it out if u wish , its built on this CMS , + you can download it there ;)

If you intend to have community functions, then you should have a look at Drupal.

As a portal go for Joomla. If something isn't there natively, you can safely assume that there'll be an extension out there for it.

I also recommend Drupal, Wordpress and Joomla in that order. The limitations with content ordering where you only have Sections/Categories/Content Item in joomla is one of the things that make me not rate it that much. It has lots of plugins out there nevertheless.

I personally prefer wordpress since its very very easy to manage.
And you can customize to look like a Joomla website it IF you've got the expertise OR cash.
Here's one of my semi-customized wordpress websites:
    http://AhReview.com
Its a good example of a news/information based site(I'll be willing to help you out too for a fee).
Joomla and Drupal are good if your willing to put in the hardwork to learn the ins and outs(and it takes a LONG time).
If you compare Joomla and drupal: Drupal wins hands down BUT Joomla is much more popular.
In the end if I was going for a information based site I'd choose wordpress.

My money is also on Joomla, tonnes of extensions, lots of people out there to work on the site.

Wordpress is great but only extends so far.

If you want any more help, just PM me.
