Come on.Share with me and the rest of the DP forum what is your graphic software. As for me,I'm using Photoshop in my design.Quite hard to learn.Several years it takes to learn Photoshop alone.huh!.Never try any other software before. What's yours?

Stick with photoshop. I have been using it for about a decade. I could never use anything else. Photoshop is number one for a reason. Just stick with it.

I use Photoshop and Fireworks exclusively. However, some designs require some work in Freehand first.

Photoshop has a lot of features and therefore takes a lot of time to learn, having used both Fireworks and Photoshop, I have to say I've found Fireworks to be a quicker and easier program to learn. But there are some features available in Photoshop that aren't in Fireworks so it really depends on the project you may be working on. I'd suggest downloading the trial version of Fireworks and see how you like it, then decide.

    Cheers,

Photoshop is the best for graphic design. Also, there are PhotoImpact, Paint Shop Pro, Corel Draw.

Photoshop is great.. but I'd say Gimp is the best free alternative on the planet. If you haven't heard of Gimp.. you probably don't play with linux.
