PLR stands for Private Label Rights. It comes in many different formats, including PLR reports, ebooks, articles, graphics, templates and even videos.

For my understand, PLR means that you buy a copyrighted materials from others. However, you cannot resell it, you only can publish. Moreover, many advertising company do not allow this PLR.

Private label rights is a concept used in Internet Marketing and derived from private labeling. It's a license where author sell most or all of the intellectual property rights to their work. The license is defined by the author of the work and has no legal definition.

    Hi matrixmxn

    Reputable IM products ie eBooks, videos, audio and etc, always comes with either user rights, resell rights (RR), master resell rights (MRR) or private label rights (PLR), it states what you can do and can not do with the products. Example of an PLR license may be as below;

    Your Rights
    [YES] Sell PLR
[YES] Can be packaged with paid products. Maximum can be bundled with five products
[YES] Can be in paid firesales only up to five products.
[YES] Can be offered as a bonus to paid products of $47 or more
[YES] Can be added as streaming to paid membership or training sites that charges $17 or more monthly, but not downloaded from inside the membership or training sites!
[YES] Can put your name on the sales page
    [YES] Can change content
[YES] You can not include this product on a paid membership or training site for downloading by its members – unless … that site charges $47 or more. There are no more than five total products on the entire site
[YES] Give this product away for free
[YES] Include this product on a free membership site
[YES] Use these as web site content
    [YES] Sell on auction sites
    [YES] Sell on Tradebit.com

Some PLR have limited rights, ie can change the content but can not claim ownership and/ or your customer is not allow to sell PLR and etc. Ultimately it is up to the original product originator to stipulate these conditions.

In your case, when you sell PLR to your customers, you still have the right to sell your products but you may have an additional competitor that will be selling the same product ...

    Hope it helps.

When an author or programmer creates an original work (something new), copyright is automatically established and he/she becomes the copyright holder.

It's not necessary to specifically register the copyright, although it's a good idea where there's a possibility of disputes over ownership arising in the future.

Copyright is similar to personal property in that it can be transfered to anyone else at will.

Although it's not a requirement, when transferring copyright from one owner to another it's a good idea to note the transfer in writing, especially for purposes of legal proof. You can also register transfers at the Copyright Office of your country for additional security (unnecessary for most people).

In additon, the creator of an original work can choose to license the use of that work to someone else according to specific conditions, without relinquishing copyright.

Hi Lone Woolf here , PLR can have some restrictions applied by the vendors it is really optional , i mean ther's not a standart PLR contract , every vendor can modifie or insert restriction here is one exemple :
    Private Label Rights
    Terms & Conditions
[YES] Can put your name as the author.
    [YES] Can edit the contents.
[YES] Can be broken down into articles.
[YES] Can be used as web or e-zine content.
[YES] Can sell and keep all the profits.
[YES] Can be added into a paid package.
[YES] Can be offered as a bonus.
[YES] Can be added into a paid membership.
[YES] Can be used as a PDF report or E-Book and collect leads for opt-in.
[YES] Can sell with Basic or Master Resell Rights.
[YES] Can resell Private Label Rights.
[NO] Can give away Private Label Rights for free.
[NO] Can add the Private Label Rights into a free site or membership.
    [YES] Can be published offline.
[YES] Can be used with personal use rights.
as you can see it's different from matrixmxn post and you can change anything on this kind of terms & conditions it's really up to you. In your case if you create a great digital product i would give only REsale Right or Master REsale Right , this way you are more protected .
