I like joomla for large sites with some complexity and word press for medium to small sites.

Yes - you missed e107! That is my favourite for a very basic and easy to use web site.

Other than that, Joomla is fine.

I prefer Wordpress for all my sites, editing themes and using magazine looking themes, I can achieve the results I need for my sites. If it needs somewhat complex features, then Drupal. If it needs more professional look and designing company websites, I will go with Drupal and Joomla.

I use Drupal for most kind of medium to large Websites. For small Sites and blogging Wordpress. But I start to use Drupal also for this kind of sites because you can expand better and have no problems with converting content from one CMS to another.

As far as Themes go, if you got used to the Drupal Theme- and Template-System and have a fair understanding of CSS-Styles and a little php there is no real problem to convert most of the existing Themes and Templates from other CMS or Pro-Templates to Drupal (but it takes a little time to get used to, like in any other CMS).

I have used many CMS before and was most of the Time not really happy with them (commercial ones to). I am a professional Developer and Consultant, so trust me with this.

Drupal is a nice and powerful combination between a CMS and a programming Framework. It has a solid underlying architecture and is unique with his taxonomy-system (something like categories but much more flexible). You can also set up and run a Drupal-Site if you are not a Developer. Just download and activate the modules you need.
But to get all the blows and whistles out of this CMS it is really useful to know php. You don't need to be an expert Developer to get some great results. As in any CMS the more you use it and get used to, the more possibilities you discover.

Also Security is a big concern in this days. And the Drupal Security Team do an awesome Job on finding and fixing security holes as fast as possible. Just try to google "+site +hacked +CMS_Name" and you will get an fast overview of what CMS is most vulnerable. This is not a real proof that Drupal is one of the securest CMS but it shows that much more user seems to have more problems with other hacked CMS-Sites (dependent on the installed base).

Best part of Drupal is it's community. There are so many people involved with Drupal that you really get most, if not all informations you need. The Drupal.org website is a good resource to start with. And the redesign of this Website that is coming soon will make it much more usable than the actual one (I hope so ;) ).

There are also many books available for Drupal (do a search on Amazon). Much more than for Joomla or any other CMS (except Typo3).

Hope this review was not to long.. ;)
