What is your suggestions to get the most benefit from social networks?

Every one can suggest what we can do to get the most benefit from social networks, I think the best way to get the most from this social networks is the relationships not the quantity of your friends tell me what is your opinion?

 

While I agree that building relationships is important to being successful using social media, I disagree with your statement that it's not about the number of relationships. If you have 50 followers on twitter, you'll never be successful at using twitter to drive traffic to a site and increasing conversions. If you have 50,000 followers on twitter then you have a much better chance of driving traffic and increasing conversions. It's the same logic as using TV to reach a bigger audience than just the local paper.

Early on you have to spend lots of time building relationships with each individual follower (and those you're following) by responding to their tweets. But at some point when you reach a critical mass, it becomes difficult to comment on others tweets due to the sheer volume of followers. What you CAN do however is to tweet about funny, interesting, useful things that others want to hear about (not necessarily the site or product you ultimately want to promote). They will come to know that everytime you tweet, it's worth a click to follow the link for a good life, an interesting tidbit or useful tip... Then once every 100 or so tweets you can actually toss in a tweet about your site or product.

The key is not to spam people over and over with your site or product related tweets.

 

I disagree with you , if you have 50 loyal followers in twitter , they can re tweet your useful tweets to their followers..etc , with this way you can arrive you massage to maximum number of people

A great way to get the most from your social networks is to link all of them together. For example, build apps and groups on facebook and myspace, then connect them all to your twitter pages. Also I would recommend building groups and apps in the other social networks and linking each and every one of them together with all the others. Twitter marketing can be done one of two ways.

You can go the relationship building small number of loyal follower way or the automated multiple account, multiple niche thousands of random follower approach. I know people who have success with each. It's what suits your style!

it depends what you use your social networks for. if you use eg twitter and try to have 50 fans but they all don't really care what you say, then there's no real point is there? the real point of social media is to engage your customer (potential or existing) and create a relationship with them.

I agree. To gain good followers from social networks, make sure they are your target market. Otherwise, if they are not interested they wont respond.

Social Networking or social media sites are great traffic generators as long as we know how to use them properly. Set a goal and keep to it. Remember most of the people that use these sites do so for fun and socializing. Therefore, only accept friends and followers who are interested in networking with you and WANT to hear about your business and offers. Otherwise you will be wasting valuable time. Once there you must interact with your friends or followers but limit yourself. Do not get caught up in the socializing frenzy or it will be more destructive than beneficial.
