What kind of ads are these?

I'd really like to have the ads that

has on my forum but I have a feeling that only a premium publisher could use those. Or am I wrong?

 

Yup...definitely premium publisher ads.

 

Definitely looks like premium publisher territory. Those guys have free reign to change up the look of their ads.

Added: I'm always curious how a site like this, with its generic topic and millions of competitors, manage to get so big. They must have either spent a ton on advertising or, well, I'm not sure how else you could get so many people when there are so many other forums with similar themes. Amazing.

howardforums.com is one of the original ones with exclusives in the industry. There wasnt any major advertising done that I know off.

It's great they have been around for a long time, and are a premium publisher. But really, arrows pointing to the ad's? That just does not seem right.

I though premium publishers could mod the code to change format, size, colors and such. Are they able to have arrows too?

Anyone know specific tos (we/I have) that they can ignore?

I am not an adwords advertizer, but I've always considered the tos I abide to as an item protecting those who are.

I use graphics on my site to display ad's and it works well. After seeing this site, I honestly don't see a lot of difference between the "eye appeal/focus" between an arrow and a graphic, except if I used the arrow this site has, I'd be kicked to the curb!

Does anyone have any thought on this?
