    I want to make a website, but i dont know what kind of websites are really popular right now, right now i have an arcade site, joke site, 2 directories (one is paid but not released yet)

    If a site you suggest interests me, i might do it :)

    Personally I believe the idea needs to be original. Obviously its hard to make a site for something where there is more sites just like it.

    Also I dont feel that many people will share their original ideas with anyone because they would rather make the site.

    But generally speeking the whole pixel craze is popular (but dont expect to make any money). Blogs are also very popular and can be profitable. Find a topic that interest you and blog it. Then add some adsense.

    yea i hate pixel sites though, its like over now.

    Blogs... i just dont like them ether, never visted any and never will.

    My advice: Don't "make a website" until you have a good reason for doing so, at which point you won't be scratching your head wondering what kind of website to make because it will be self-defining.

    I always want to see websites in stuff I'm interested in. Stuff like midget cowboys, monkeys riding dogs, fat people tackling unsuspecting people for no reason, clothing made of tasty beef jerky, ect.
