    In short, these sites allow the users to subscribe and submit their own articles...I also really like the simple interface of them.

    Do you know which kind of WP template are those?

    Well, they are presumably using WPMU (Wordpress Multi User), and then probably had custom themes made around their websites.

    I guess they are using wordpress. Just take a look vsource and found this path mondoinformatico.info/wp-content/plugins/democracy/basic.cs I would say they are modify the script as well. The interesting findings.

    The theme directory they are using is "mondoinformatico", but they could have customized it.

    Those sites have custom made themes. I think this company, http://www.webjuice.it/ made the themes for them . You can contact him and ask for further details
