Sorry if this has already been done, but I'm new here :D

So, what was the motivation for you to make your website? Was it a hobby, a career or was it purely financial? Whatever the reason, post it here :)

I've always really wanted my own website, but I just never knew what I could do that would set my website asside from everybody elses. When I found this, I was set on the idea, and with a bit (a lot...) of help from some people around me, mainly my uncle, I started building it. I'm really pleased with how its coming along (I only started like 10 days ago).

    So, whats your reasoning?

Ps- if you'd like to provide a link to your website here, feel free, if not, it doesn't matter.

I started my Blogger site just to have a place to put all the Video Game Cartoons I was doing so I could show them to friends, then it kinda grew a bit out of that... :D

    Well.....

While walking between the trees with the wind blowing in my hair and the sweet perfume of meadowland flowers enhanced by the joyful notes of a bird in song I came up the with the idea of improving my life, creating an income that would allow me the freedom which I deserve, to be as free as a bird, dancing in the midday sun with my family, bathing in afternoon rays with the gentle sound of lapping seas....

Here I am stressing about google updates, getting my head around SEO, tweaking a huge amount of pages to squeeze the final dollars out of them, have I backed up recently....? oh fuck no I have not I think in the middle of an eletrical storm, what if goes through my mind at 0430 while trying to sleep. When will google love my site, has that new site hit the sand box yet, should I get another 50 links for that other site or will it be flagged shit what do i do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yea it was a hobby

A few years back I worked on a help desk and put together some html pages with product fixes etc and shared them out to the team.

Over a two year period I added more fixes and other things that I learned about the products we supported. The site was growing and boss was becoming unhappy that I was using company resources so I uploaded it to a free subdomain.

I moved onto another job and the site basically was left to rot for over a year but then I discovered digital point after browsing for something that wasn’t web related (go figure).

I started learning about Adsesne, affiliate and basically having an online business which got me thinking about my old site.

Since Sept last year I threw every spare minute I had at reading this forum and any info I could find.

The old site was redesigned, updated with new content and of course placed onto its own domain. Adsense was added and it started generating revenue, which really got me thinking.

Since Sept 2005 when I found digital point I have built two websites and three Blogs and have well passed the $100 mark with Adsense all with the help of Digital point and a few other places.

Now I have changed my total choice in career and now want to quit my full time job so I can put my concentration and sweat into my own business - working hard to make someone else rich is something I don’t fancy doing for the next 20 years :(

Well since i spend most of my time on my computer trying to figure out ways to make money i realised that the easiest way for me to make money is to make websites/web templates/code. So i started learning to design and code templates. So then i got really good at it and i became a webmaster. So right now i pretty much work from home, because adsense makes me my money.
