    what traits and what knowledge do you think a good webmaster should have?
    , and how will a webmaster rated as "Excellent"?

    I think a good webmaster should always be checking on there sites and if it a forum they should be active with the members.

    If it is a blog the webmaster should update daily.

    If it's an arcade they should add games daily.

    IMHO,the best quality a webmaster should have , is to have an inquisitive nature.
    Learning , trying and experimenting again and again will get you far.

    This is a good thread, I think a good webmaster has to:

    1- Be active on their forums.
    2- Update their website / blogs frequently.
    3- Be proficient in web design.
    4- Understand SEO and can make it work for their sites.
    5- Give back to forums like these to help others in the same boat.
    6- Be willing to learn constantly (since this field is for ever advancing)
    7- Be creative and a good problem solver.
    8- Be social! (this is hard to do when you are on the computer all day)

    I'll think of more.

    A successful(rather than good I would prefer to say successful) webmaster also creative , anlytical and knowledegable of his niche .
