What Motivates You?

As a guy with a computer making websites, it can be extremely easy to get distracted from working and wondering off into the web in search of entertainment (must resist the Digg Spy!)

So what is it that keeps you going? What drives you to keep typing, even though your carpal tunnel is flaring up and your bed is calling you?

Do you like doing what you do, so you just keep doing it? Do you want to work full time online and leave your 'real-world' job? Do you work for the monthly check?

The ability to own something like this, combined with the freedom to exercise my creativity and vision.

First of all I wouldn't do it if I didn't like it, secondly if you become good at what you do then why stop? I'm good at watching football and i'll never stop! LOL, seriously, the passion is what keeps me up and going, (the money is good too) that and these beers!

To be able to oneday afford to buy a house with my partner of 3 years.
    That's what motivates me.

I think getting a check in the mail is one of the greatest motivation factors for me. The check may only be a couple hundred dollars and not near what I make from my job, but man it feels like a made a million.

I didn't want to be carried out of job feet first or retire just in time to die. There's still a lot to do in life. Working from home and owning my own business allows me to do that.

For me it's building something useful (at the very least useful for myself by making money).

Couldn't agree more Jim. Where I live there is a strong in-built emphasis on the whole "born -> school -> work -> die" model. I don't think that we're here for that purpose, so why live it?

Suppose I should say what my motivation is ...

I am motivated by building sites and watching them grow. I like the flexibility and the income that can be earned as a reward for hard work. But the thing that motivates me most is my fiancee, who I will be marrying in July. :)

I just keep thinking that by working hard I can provide a good standard of living for her ... and me too.

When something gives one some great both financial and moral reward that is the optimum motivation.

i am just 22 years old and i started doing searching on internet for making different ways when i was just 16th or 17th years old. i live in pakistan and i don't like to do job to make only $100 per month for living.

i always wanted to do something special. always dreamed big and i know i don't have anything now but who knows i am the next bill gates :) (kidin).

well i work on internet all the day finding new things and learning more and more. now i have 5, 6 websites which i am running because of making some money from autosurf programs and investments online.

i spent all of my money on my sites and now i am earning only 200-400 dollars every month.

what moticated me? well actually you see i told you that if i do job in pakistan i can make only $100 and but now i am doing my own online business and making double, tripple every month. secondly i know that my future is very bright....if you guys will help me and i get lots of visitors on my sites then i can make my dreams come true.

i love my parents they gave me everything which they could afford. i was mad about computer and they bought one for me and i am using it for right way.

you know this is another big motivation because my parents now support me to do what i like to do and i like to do something special in internet world.

i want to make money and want to give everything to my parents and my family. sometime i gets disappointed when i see so many others doing so well and i am still not doing that good but i don't know how and when?

but i am sure one day i will be there where all dreams to be and ofcourse with help of you guys.

I like it and the fact that I am not controlled by a boss kept me on internet . Then came the money which kept me going although now it is not as much I require but fine ... I was not doing anything else anyway .
I made only $3 for every $1 I invested . Good start as I look at it ... What do you think ?
    Regards
