What script to use for pure image site?

    I want to create an image hosting site and I'm obviously concerned about bandwidth and speed use. Since wordpress is a pretty complex script, wouldnt it load slow as opposed to a standalone image script? I want to use wordprss for the plugins ect ect. If you had to make a image hosting site, would you use wordprses?

    I would not use wordpress. I would use a custom CMS that is made for an image site.

    wordpress is not so cool for image sites.

    I'm currently building one for a mate at the moment, using Gallery2 http://www.pureanimegallery.com

    It requires a beefy server though.

    One good one that is a lot zippier is zenphoto. It's not so good for SEO but for everything else it flys.
