What Skills Do Employers Look For On A Resume Or Cv?

Personally I am not really in the market for a job but it feels nice to update my CV once in a while to keep it current in case a dream job comes knocking I will be ready. So when I sat down with my current CV I looked at my skills which basically looks like a bunch of spam to me, I have listed everything from Photoshop, Cinema 4D, Zend Studio, and Visual Studio to things which seem more basic such as MS Word or Excel. I also bring up that I am experience with Linux, Unix and Windows and go on to explain a little bit in regards to how my day to day workflow is.

But is this really interesting to an employer? Does it seem redundant to list things like MS Word on a CV if you already know many other complex programs and it's almost obvious that you know how to use it? Or would it be better to adapt my CV to the employer I am sending it to, a slightly different CV depeding on the job? Or is more simply better?
