What stats

If you're looking at a site for sale or just tracking your own stats, what is the preferred software, and why?

I spend a lot of time in the marketplace and whenever somebody has traffic, people want to see their stats. Personally, I use Google Analytics and have been told that GA is a little on the low side. Occasionally I'll look at my Awstats and they seem high.

Basically, I'd like to hear your opinion on what analytics / stats program you like best and why.

    Thanks!
    :D

Extreme Tracking is popular, but its free version adds an image. There are some server sides like Awstats, Webalizer, as they analyze through server logs, they are the most accurate ones. That might be the difference between a remote counter called from java and one analyzing the local server.

    I use (or prefer) statcounter.com or http://www.haveamint.com/.
AWSTATS is ok, but can be very unreliable (with reporting uniques... especially with image hosts).

Excellent. I just wanted to be sure that there wasn't a conflict with the codes. I just checked StatCounter, and they appear to be realtime stats! Even better! :D
