    Hey,

Not sure where to post this...
I few months ago i bought a PR5 domain, really cool name.
I tried one thing with it but it didnt really work...

Question is, what shall I do with it? Anyone got any ideas they might be willing to share?

Uh... a lot depends on the cool name and what kind of traffic the site is getting? What niche is it in, where is it in the serps, how much content, visitor loyalty, does it have Adsense? have you tried any affiliate networks, what was the idea that didn't work and how long is a piece of string, I guess.

Maybe you could share the domain with us and you might get bombarded with ideas ...

Well i tried affiliates but they didnt get on the serps so no luck. The domain is www.modernstreet.com

It gets around 20 visitors a day, i think it is mostly webmaster related traffic tho.

I havnt tried adsense, but its not really worth it with 20 visitors.

I was wondering if I could use the PR5 to rank well for something in google.

Well, according to Marketleap, Google is only showing two links to the site. MSN and yahoo show more but definately from more webmaster related sites than anything to do with home insurance.

None of the internal pages are reflecting any PR at all. All the pages I looked at were white bar. When you bought the site was the content all webmaster related? Have you recently added the home insurance database?

I'd say the intermediary content is not helping. You know there is not much intro text at all on the homepage, then click through to an area - no text at all, other than place names and a third click is needed until you get some content.

If the whole insurance angle is new, then i'd say it is a good niche but you need to build more spiderable content and build links both to your homepage and to individual area pages. I am you could think of a way to include 3 or 4 area specific links to real estate companies or whatever in return for the same back to you.

Remeber that the links back to you should preferably be relevant. Are you using the DP keyword tracker? If not, you should sign up for that, set yourself a link building excersise, targetting your home insurance niche in the UK and specific areas and give the site time to recover from the change of focus.

I hope you get more input from other members and you might also want to drop a request in the website review section.

Look on the nav bar on the top of the page and you will see a button called tools. Click on the first link to Keyword Position Tracker and follow the instructions to get yourself a Google API and sign up.

It is very useful to track your serps for keywords depending on whay you are doing to your site and also to keep an eye on competitor serps.
