    Hi,
What webhost do you guys use to host your site? Is it onshore or offshore?

What don't you like about your host?

    Thanks

I'm using hostgtor for the moment. I do plan on changing to an Australian host at some time in the next year, however for what I am doing now, Hostgator is brilliant.

The thing I like most about my host is, that I own it :D

Servers are off-shore for non Europeans and pretty fast, if the site is speed optimised

Most of the above seem to be contented with the host..
Anything you like/dislike about your host? Why did u choose them over others?

    I use my own now.

I became frustrated with other hosts. Especially on mentoring and coaching deals. People would have to buy dedi servers ($150.00 + a month) for new sites when they really just needed semi dedicated with more disk space. I also became annoyed with the nickel and diming of most web hosts. Some will offer you $50.00 or $99 a month, then hit you with all these set up fees, CPanel fee, more RAM/DISK SPACE fees and so forth. They basically market to people with the hot phrases and then nickel and dime them to death.

To top that off, I each hosting company would have different set ups which causes nightmares for my programmers. They would also sell them unmanaged for the cheap price, and then have to sucker them into the full managed which was another fee, and on and on. This time of stuff really annoyed me, and my clients. So I opted to start my own host that has plans tailored to what I do.

This saves them money, and gets them a better server set up tailored to their actual needs.

Use Mediatemple.com, they have an amazing CP, low monthy rates, a great amount of features and bandwidth. They also respond so support tickets wthin 24hrs with a REAL HUMAN response!!! ;)

oh btw, another cool thing is that you pay per month with no contract. I pay $20/month and can change hosting any time without cancellation fee's ect..

mediatemple.net is the way to go!
