What would be a good logo?

I am updating my software and so I want to update the logo, or possibly replace it.

The software is SonicMailer Pro - a mailing list manager

    The current logo is:

So what do you think of when you think of "SonicMailer Pro" in the context of a mailing list/newsletter system?

    Thanks! :)

I think it would look nicer if it was all glossy without black borders. Vista style icons would be ideal!

I disagree - for a logo you want something simple and recognizable, not something super glossy. I agree that you should redo the logo however, it's a good idea but the execution needs to be better.

change the colour of the envelope..make it more 2.0 looks.Adding more interesting fire shape there using Photoshop Custome Shape..:)Blend it with red and black(fire)or red and yellow.

for the envelope, maybe blue colour?and add some gradient (blue, blue(low tone)

    just my tips..

i see sonic the hedgehog humping a mailbox. perhaps it's just my twisted mentality but eh, who knows... as for the paper plane, i don't know if i like it or i hate it. it could definitely use some work. the center crease should be a shade of light gray. right now it's white and there should be some kind of shadow in there. atleast on the bottom portion of it. not quite sure it brings to mind the whole mail theme to the normal end user though but from a design stanpoint i see where you are coming from with it.

A paper airplane does not exactly bring to mind speed and efficiency. I wouldn't use it.
