The amount of impressions has to be pretty staggering.. Then factor in the fact that most users are repeat users and are already used to all the ads...

Im afraid to even guess at the click thru rate, I'll leave it to you guys.. But im betting its probably a record low in internet ad history!

Depends on what site you are talking about. There was a recent sale at sitepoint about a site making over $5000 a month. It's a myspace resource site. so i guess i dnt need to calculate the CTR. Having that kind of income is already satisfying.

Sorry for my irrelevant post earlier. I think myspace website gets around 3-5%. Most users are enjoying the fun, becoming blind to ads. I did'nt read the topic carefully..:D

I know its not "very very good"... There was a recent article where nielsen internet ratings said myspace.com has 12% of ALL adds on the net! Thats right, 12% of every single ad on the INTERNET.

Now while Im not saying thats factual, it did come from a reputable "wired" magazine. And in this same article it says myspace grossed like 40 million last year. Do the mad.

12% of ALL adds, only grossing 40 mllion?

The internet advertising business makes around 5,000,000,000 (billion) a year! 12% of 5 billion is 600 million. But they only made 40 million?

The math is their click thru rate is astonishingly horrible. They have 4 ads on every single page, they have google ads during search results, they even have ads on "add a friend" confirmation pages. . Who in the hell is going to click a add when searching for someone or when confirming a friend add? I bet their cpm is like .03 cent.

So yes, their click thru rate is definitely horrible. Im guessing like .02% horrible!

i think it does... Even if you have 500,000,000 members, when you're hitting them with 4 ads per page every single day, the less and less ppl are going to click on ads. The less ppl click on ads the lower the cpm is going to be for them.

Again, it said they only grossed 40 mil, so yea it matters
