1998 was the first time. Back then I didn't spend more than 1 hour a day online, compared to nowadays where i'm on for at least 5 hours a day. How times have changed :p

For me, I was first online in 1996. I remember the good ole' days of receiving tons of the AOL CDs in the mail.....yea, that was a nightmare using AOL. No matter how hard you tried and how loud you yelled they wouldn't cancel the account. They even kept trying to bill an account that had been closed for years....I like the internet much better now that there's wireless, cable, and all kinds of fun things.

'Twas probably 9-10 years ago. I remember been shown to my computer in the cyber-cafe. I had little idea what to do.

The owner clicked on the blue 'e' symbol and went away. I grabbed the mouse and instinctivly clicked on the drop-down menu in the address bar. I knew about email, and yahoo, so clicked on something that must have said "Yahoo! mail". It must have loaded from the cache coz it took only a couple of seconds.

I remember mail.yahoo.com to be greenish and orange [?] back then...

On the login page, I typed in my first name as the username, and "flower" as my password (someone had told me passwords had to be 6 characters long).

After 30 mins during which I patiently waited for the page to load, the owner came up to me and said 30 mins were up.

I paid him 50 rs[1$] and made to leave.

And that, was my first(rather dissapointing) encounter with the internet.

Thankfully its extremely rewarding and enjoyable nowadays :D

My first time was in 1994 or 1995 Christmas - got a computer from Ashley Dad for a christmas gift. only had 50 rams and 2000 gig bits very slow but still it was fun to learn. Went to college and took some computer programing classes. Since then my 2 brothers, son, and mom started using her computer this year she is almost 70yrs old. Lance my younger brother came over for 5yrs and used my computer. Anyways, its really paying off and I know it will only get better.

My high school was introduced to the internet in 1996 and I personally started using it two years later as a junior for research papers and my newspaper/journalism projects. It's nothing compared to what it is today!

First time I used computer in 2002 and that time I only used Yahoo Chat rooms , even spent 4-5 consecutive hours in internet cafes chatting (aka wasting time) and then stopped using it after a year and started back in 2004 till the date. I'm not really that old :)

I still remember when one of my cousin had 166 - 233 MHz computer with 16 MB Ram and I used to sit with him and always insist on playing games lol. Well good old days (Bad old days when it comes to computers) have gone ^-^
