We all know that it's best to find a happy medium between overestimating or underestimating one's abilities, but where exactly is that medium for you? Towards overestimation or towards underestimation?

Personally, I would go for overestimation, in most cases. Because, unless you're really out of your mind, aiming high with careful planning is not a bad thing at all. I'd rather not have 100% success with a high goal than succeed in a lower one. I have asked some of my class mates the same question and they said they would go for underestimation to spare themselves the disappointment if they fail. A reasonable answer, I guess.

So, what's your opinion on the subject?

Underestimation is better when selling your services and overestimation is better when doing your own project.

I tend to set my goals pretty high as you learn a lot more in that process when pushing yourself. Its amazing what you can do when you have to.

Good question, really makes you have to think, I'm not too sure but I am leaning more towards Overestimation.

When i estimate stuff, e.g. cash flow forecasting my sites, i always underestimate so that i am pleasantly satisifed when i beat the estimation :D

When paying for things I always over-estimate so I'm sure to have enough money and not look like a fool. hehe... I tend to overcook dinner too and totally ruin it. haha! (Sorry Daniel...no good dinners for you!)

I underestimate my knowledge, so therefore underestimate advertising prices... and I hope Daniel likes burnt baked beans and toast :p

Very funny! I don't even eat beans and toast and you know it. :D Ok, spaghetti, I cook the noodles too long, total mush, yuck... anything with noodles, mush.

    noodles+Kalina+overestimation=yucky mush.
