    Advertising (learn more)

Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

Whats up with the targeting on my home page?

So Google is pretty good about targeting. I just launched this site today.

Every page (cities/miami/orlando) has targeted ads about shopping or local stores... except my homepage. I have a bunch of template ads on the homepage. What gives? Google is really good about putting targeted ads on my site.

I did download the template, so is it possible there is some hidden code or something that google is searching that is telling it the keyword templates?

copy your index.html to index2.html and see if the same thing happens.
If not, and it's targetted well, delete your index.html and rename your index2.html to index.htm (No "L") . It should work fine, but easy to set back if it doesn't.

If you downloaded a template site then you need to remove the word "template" form the html. Most template sites have their url somewhere in your html. For example, "site designed by template.com" or something similar. Look for those words, usually in the footer or in the .js files, and remove them.

EDIT: I looked at your site and I see you downloaded the template from allwebco.com. They make great templates. :D My site is also from allwebco.com. Look in your .js files and remove any reference to allwebco.com from them. That is what the bots are reading. Also, use Google's section targeting to draw more attention to your shopping content. Look here https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/answer.py?answer=23168.

Oh, my mistake. I would suggest you comb the php, html files for the word template. Probably hard coded into the php files somewhere. Remove that and any reference to clip art and building sites. :D
