Right after high school. I moved about an hour away and I think it was the right decision. Needed to learn how to be independent.

I really shouldn't even answer this question being that my answer isn't typical for the average person who belongs to this forum. The only reason I'm gonna answer it is not for anyone to feel sorry for me or for any other reason than to maybe give some people a different perspective on how lucky they are to get a fair shake in life, especially a young person who's attending High School or College and still being able to live at home. Regardless, theres a whole lot of people in the world who would give there right arm for an opportunity to have a roof over their head, food to eat and go to school. With that said, I may not have had all of those things but I'm surely grateful for living in the country I do and for having the opportunities that have been giving to me in my life.

I was pushed out before my 12th Birthday. I seen my Mom once between then and when I turned 22 tears old and that was in the Hospital when I was in intensive care after being stabbed, I was 14 then. I was a good kid but grew up on the street until I got a factory job when I turned 15. I've never missed work since and never collected an unemployment check in my life. I missed out on School, Birthdays, Holidays, etc. that I'm assuming most kids get to experience. I took the equivalent exam when I was 22 for High School without studying for it and passed; hence I have my G.E.D. I started my own business when I was young and I'm still in Business 14 years later. I do have scars inside and outside from my childhood however I'm no longer angry about it because I know that there are people in our world who have it 100 times worse than I could ever imagine and my heart pours out to them. When I think of these people it makes me feel ashamed of ever feeling sorry for myself.

I moved out when I was 24. OMG.. way too late. Definitely best experience ever.. I would recommend you do it if you have the maturity and financial stability to do it. It's a great way to build independence and grow
