    I'm a "newbie" at digitalpoint.com but that doesn't mean I'm a newbie at the net. I have been around for 25 years at the net and registred my first .COM domain in the early 90's.

    Number of employess would not be the issue. COST of the background checks would be the biggest issue. And in many areas of the world background checks are not even possible no matter how much money is available.

    And validating identity. If you bought a domain yesterday, turned on privacy and used an email address from that domain we'd have no idea who you were. Or if you used a throw away email address. Many do. Sometimes they're fine, sometimes they're not. Either way, you could be sure it would take longer to be validated than the time it takes to get 3 likes.

    I think the answer to that question is more based on why you are here. Since I'm not a sleazeball scam artists, generally not here "just for the mercenary side of things", getting likes is the easiest thing in the world, particularly if you have some sort of skill or knowledge and are willing to simply help others who may lack that knowledge.

    But then there's a reason I consider buy/sell/trade, business, marketing and SEO areas to be hives of scum and villainy I rarely if ever poke my head into -- usually only venturing into those scam cities when someone says "OH, you gotta see this shit!!!"

    There's a reason I've got roughly a 3:1 post to like ratio since they even added likes here... same reasons I outline EVERY time someone makes one of these threads.

    1) Try to be entertaining. Sense of humor can go a long ways.

    2) Be as honest as possible, and to hell with who that might offend. Typically if they get offended, they're probably some sort of sleazeball **** you don't need the headache of dealing with anyways.

    3) ACTUALLY TRY HELPING OTHERS!!!

    Couple sleazy transactions, boo-hooing over "wah, I can't scam anybody yet", and ten word wonder-posts aren't gonna cut the mustard!

    ... and IMHO restricting access to those who can't manage any meaningful contributions is a great way to filter out a lot of the "noise".

    Though it does sadly seem the number of legitimate talented developers have gone AWOL web wide with everything taken over by sleazy snake oil peddlers and rookie nube fools duped by get rich quick schemes with less legitimacy than late night TV "make money fast in Realty" infomercials or the spray-on hair for the chrome-domes! Plain as day given the number of quacks, morons and fools polluting the web with cookie-cutter idiotic mouth-breathing halfwit BS like Turdpress, Bootcrap, jQuarry, etc, etc, etc...
