Where can I find Public Domain content?

Hi,

Where can I find public domain submitted content. I don't mean free online games or articles. I mean places that allow funny videos where you can use them on your site for free and even modify them if you want by putting your sites logo in them, other content that has it's copyright has expired, etc.

My intention is only really to use videos, but I may be interested in something else so I would like to also see other sites that offer public domain content that could be re-used incase it may come in handy.

I noticed the videos on the second site was using the ones on youtube, google, etc where they are actually hosted at them sites and they have just embedded them into their site.

Although, you can do that I have always been worried about embedding other peoples content into my site just incase one day I find that the site is gone or they stop allowing it and you have to then pull off all of the videos from that site and you had then put all that work into it for nothing, like doing the videos descriptions, titles, uploading them, etc.

I am also looking for mainly videos that people have made theirselve over the recent years like the ones on youtube and other funny video sites but I have to be able to host them on my server and they have to be in the public domain.
