Where/Who Is The BEST Place To Start a Group At??

    I am not talking about a social network group per say - not like facebook, myspace etc. But it is a type of social group. Remember the yahoo groups and such? Where you could sign up for a news letters of sorts in a subject area you were interested in. You got either daily, weekly, monthly etc. emails from said group.

    My question is who is currently the BEST to start such a group with?

    It is use to be yahoo groups. I have been out of the "news letter/news group" loop for a long time and my search results are not giving me the answer I need.

    Opinions please :confused:

    There is nothing wrong with yahoo groups or google groups if one doesn't get the traffic.

    A group is just like any website. We need to promote it to drive traffic. You can go to other forums and invite people over to join your group. Forum marketing will work well to grow your group.

    I understand what you are saying, I am just asking who is the most popular group going right now? I know a few years ago it was yahoo groups. Does google have a group like the yahoo group? I am just looking to find out where most people are "hanging" at these days - group wise?
