I'm just getting started but I have sites running on Joomla and Wordpress. I have found these easy to use for a non-programmer who wants a wide range of templates, plug-ins and customization options.

There's so much to learn when undertaking any online business/marketing venture. If you don't have a complete grasp of every discipline - ie design, layout, coding, SEO, etc - these packages allow you to build your own optimized site or blog with very little technical knowledge.

I haven't tried many others but I'm open to suggestions if anyone wants to convince me:D

If Wordpress ever released a Wordpress CMS version, it would own all. There flat out would be no competition.

I dig Wordpress because of the vast availability of ready made templates and mods, but I've been digging on Website Baker lately -it's super simple (basically one file + stylesheet) and affords me alot of the little usability features that I like, super easy image galleries, multiple news/blog instances(for multiple authors - see logofu.com), and a nimber of other easy to tack on mods.

Again it's not the most search egnine friendly CMS out of the box, but it can be modified faily simply

Joomla is what I use for my personal blogs, and I use some freebie thing for my directory, and WP for my BH sites.

I like using Joomla for the CMS and integrating a WP Blog into the site so you get the best of both worlds. it's a pretty powerful setup for a website.

I use wordpress and silverstripe. I've used drupal as well. Most of the things I have done so far are pretty simple so drupal was more than I needed. Wp is flexible and easy to work with.
