Which CMS For a Community Generated News Site?

    Hi,

I'm looking to start a community driven news site, where the users will post news and opinion.

Which CMS is best suited to manage the user submissions and display it in a professional-looking design?

I would use joomla for that. Joomlart.com has a great looking newspaper-like template called JATeline.

Joomla will work and so will wordpress. I'd bet Drupal will work too.

It all depends on the template, the scale of the project, and how much time/effort you want to put into managing the project.

Drupal is best both for stability and it is best for SEO.Joomla will not support seo as much as Drupal.

Wordpress and b2evolution are quite good though I don't know the exact number of users you can have on these.

    Joomla Drupal, worldpress all good.

We've just started using a free script called mini-publisher from all headline news. and it is pretty good. much simpler or a newsonly site.

One of Drupal's strengths is building communities. I'd give that a shot. It's got an abundance of community/facebook/youtube like features.
