    Hi, all-

I'm new to all of this so forgive the newbieness.

I need to set up a site with the following group access features:
    - general information navigable to the public
    - select content available to a registered group of users (the "community")
    - further restricted content available to another set of users (the "trustees")
    - access to a database with varying permissions depending on which group
    - authoring/publishing/etc rights available to another set of users
    - these groups may intersect, e.g. a user can be a member of any or all groups

Doesn't seem like a lot to ask, and I was going to use Joomla, but it isn't obvious to me that Joomla can set up different groups of users to have access to different kinds of content and database access.

    Thanks,

    -dan

It may take some extra development work, but I know drupal can handle the multiple groups, and I think there is a module for node access control.

I think Joomla! with Community Builder module can handle it.
